2010 Hydref 25 4:30 PM

Welsh Liberal Democrats in North Wales have today selected their candidates who will fight the North Wales regional elections to the National Assembly in May 2011.

A democratic all member ballot in North Wales selected the following candidates

1. Aled Roberts

2. Eleanor Burnham

Commenting, Cllr Aled Roberts, lead candidate for the Welsh Liberal Democrats in North Wales said:

I am absolutely delighted that Ive been chosen to stand for the Welsh Liberal Democrats in North Wales. While I am proud to serve the people of Wrexham as the Leader of the Council, I want the opportunity to represent the whole of North Wales and make their voice heard in Cardiff Bay.

The people of North Wales know that the Labour and Plaid Cymru government is distant and ineffective, presiding over falling standards in health and education.

Together, Eleanor Burnham and I will be a strong voice for the people of North Wales, campaigning on their behalf and making sure that their voice is heard.

Eleanor Burnham, North Wales Welsh Liberal Democrat AM said:

I send my congratulations to Aled on topping the North Wales list for the Welsh Liberal Democrats. I know that he will campaign hard and work even harder if elected to represent the people of North Wales. I look forward to campaigning alongside him in the months ahead. We will be campaigning hard to get as many Welsh Liberal Democrats representing North Wales in the National Assembly.
