The Welsh Liberal Democrats will expose an example of the waste and inefficiency of Labour and Plaid Cymru in government on each day of the Welsh general election campaign. Wyn Williams

Research by the Welsh Liberal Democrats revealed that during 2007/2008 the Labour-Plaid government spent £4.6 million on external consultants, up £300,000 from the previous year.

Wyn Williams, Welsh Liberal Democrat Montgomeryshire Assembly Candidate said:

"I understand that governments, from time to time, need expert advice however spending £4.6 million on external consultants is excessive.

"The Labour-Plaid government has a responsibility to make sure our Welsh pound is spent wisely and has the biggest impact possible. Over the past four years, I just don't think that they have been responsible with our money.

"During the Welsh General Election campaign, the Welsh Liberal Democrats will expose the waste and inefficiency of the Labour-Plaid government over the past four years. When every family, charity and business is having to make every pound stretch that little bit further, Wales needs a government that does the same.

"Labour and Plaid Cymru have turned waste, incompetence and inefficiency into an art form."
