Aled Roberts, Welsh Liberal Democrat Shadow Minister for Education in the National Assembly, has welcomed today's announcement by the Education Minister that a steering group for the development and implementation of computer science and ICT in Welsh schools is to be established.
Commenting, Aled Roberts said:
"Technology moves forward at a very fast pace and we must be prepared to adapt to changing circumstances.
"Today's young learners use computers in their school lives, their social circles and eventually they will use them in the workplace, so the outcome of the Steering Group's work should ensure that they are well-equipped for the future.
"I am particularly pleased to see that one of the key themes the Steering Group will be assessing is the development and use of creative problem-solving skills using ICT, which will help youngsters to think for themselves and improve their all-round abilities."
